Shenstone Birder Poll - Please Vote

At the top of the blog page is a poll that I am running with regards to possibly changing the name of it from Shentone Birder

The Poll will be open for a week and I would ask you all to vote (and be honest with your choices)

Many Thanks
Jase

  1. I have voted for 'The Shenstone Naturalist'. The reason being that you obviously feel like a change of name and that is the one I would go for as it reflects your interests and also tell's folk where you are from. Hope that makes sense.lol!

My preference is for you to stay as Shenstone Birder though to be honest!

  2. The "Shenstone Naturalist" clearly fits your wider activities and so I've voted for that, why stay the same for ever and ever.

  3. I don't think the name of the blog has too change as it evolves,or indeed your own interests evolve ( I still see you as foremost a Birder who spends a chunk of his time at Shenstone, you may feel that pigeon holes you, but those who read your blog know you have a broad interest in nature)...so I voted to keep as it is..but if you fancy a 'make over'.. go for it mate !

  4. Jason, I've ticked the Shenstone Naturalist for the same reason as Pam and also, like Pam, I still like 'Shenstone Birder' !

As far as I'm concerned, it'll always be 'Jason's blog', and a pleasure to visit.

  6. Why not like Dave Hutton's site "Shenstone birding & beyond"

  7. Ahoy Jason! Why change? you are the Shenstone Birder and birding and nature is all about diversity! The fact that you get about and do great reports on various things such as Odanata and Butterflies is what you do, and do well!

I'm boatbirder (people know me as such) but my blog doesn't only cover what I see in the marina or when out cruising it covers all aspects of my wanderings :)Stick with it mate :)If your bored with the blog why not just revamp it with a new template!

    Regards

    Keith

  8. Keep it as it is - short and sweet - it describes your 'main' interest and where you are based. The one thing about birds and birding is that unlike other subjects i.e. botany and entomology is that you can search for and observe birds any time of the year through all seasons. Long-winded titles sound pretencious imo.

Of course you could use the car less, more walking and call it 'The Tenstone Birder'!.......

  9. Thanks for all the comments and votes so far folks. At the moment keeping 'Shenstone Birder' is out in front with 'The Shenstone Naturalist' nipping at its heels

  10. Although I voted to keep "Shenstone Birder", I am not really that bothered. As long as the quality of the blog is up to your usual standard (and I am sure it will be), that is what really matters.

  11. I'm one for change, but I've gone with Shenstone Birder, cos that's who you are. I also like Shenstone Naturalist. You say in your 'About Me' that you'll be posting other things sometimes so I think you're covered. Can't wait to see what you choose!

  12. Mike - Thanks for your kind words

Omi - Cheers for the vote. It's interesting gauging how people feel. Who knows there may be chages ahead or it could be business as usual
