A very quiet day around the patch today, so I decided to walk the Butts Lane circuit. Of note were a flock of 30 Linnets, 2 Yellowhammers, 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 1 Common Buzzard and a juvenile Kestrel.
Butterfly species have now decreased significantly with only Large and Small Whites being in any numbers. Other butterflies seen were 2 Small Tortoiseshell, 1 Meadow Brown and 1 Speckled Wood.
